Nancy O'Dell's first work in the industry of broadcast was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reports in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to examine. It led to the state government imposing more stringent rules in these instances. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. She then became a part of Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's been a reporter for The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted various pre-show arrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She also hosts The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
